Company History
Guardian Plumbing & Heating was established in 1968 as a service company by Andy
D’Ascenzo. His idea was to deliver a quality product with good service at a fair price.
Our first customer was the Metropolitan Hospitals, which was later purchased by Henry
Ford Health Systems. Henry Ford Health Systems remains a customer to this day.
As we grew, healthcare and high rise buildings became our primary customers. This is a
market where quality and good service are expected and we rose to the occasion, growing
our business every year.
Andy had t hree sons who joined him, becoming master plumbers and helping to take the
company into the future
With the loss of its founder in 1984, the reins of the company were passed to Tony
D’Ascenzo. Through his leadership, t he company opened a construction division which
has worked in every major hospital system in Southeastern Michigan. In 1990, Andy’s
Fourth son, Larry D’Ascenzo, joined the company as a Marketing Manager for the service
division. Since then, Guardian’s client base consists of companies as big as General Motors
to single building owners.
